Staff care passionately about the aspirations of all children at Well Lane and our focus on basic skills prepares all our children for lifelong learning. Staff raise expectations throughout all areas of the curriculum, making school an exciting and inspiring place to be.We welcome the partnership we have with parents and families. We also believe very strongly, that our close working partnership can only benefit the children and help them to Work, Learn, Progress and Succeed.
A building project to enhance the Early Years area started before summer 2015 and was completed in October 2015. The second phase of building work is now being carried out in Yr1, Yr2 and the front enterance. Use of PE funding and Pupil Premium funding has supported us in enhancing the playground and KS1 areas. Parents have raised funds for equipment for the children and Local Police and groups have worked with the children in keeping the environment clean and safe supporting the work of our Green Flag Eco Status which was achieved in 2014 and renewed in July 2016 and again in 2018. In 2017 we gained our Schools Sanctuary award and Schools in Bloom award too!
Well Lane is working in partnership with Prenton Primary and Liverpool John Moores University in training new teachers through a scheme called “Schools Direct”. We also train students who study for other qualifications. These partnerships are crucial to ensure future educators are given the best training. Well Lane is proud to promote its good and outstanding practice as recognised by Ofsted in 2017.
