I am delighted to welcome you to Well Lane Primary School.
Children come first at Well Lane and we strive to work closely with parents to ensure that the time their child spends with us is safe and happy as well as successful. We believe parents are partners with us during the important years spent in Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. We are dedicated to creating learning opportunities for each child so that children achieve the highest standards, ensuring their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed to the full.
We are a good school working with a range of partners in education to continue to raise standards.
Ofsted November 2017: "Pupils really enjoy coming to school and are enthusiastic about their learning. They are smart, polite and well mannered. They are proud of their school and say that they are happy and cared for."
Of course the best way to find out about our school is to come and visit. Pre-COVID we warmly welcomed prospective parents to come and visit our friendly school to see us 'in action' and feel it for themselves. I recognise the very important decision you face in placing your child in a school so at the present time please telephone or e-mail the school office to arrange a telephone conversation with myself in the first instance.
I look forward to speaking with you and hearing about your child.
Enjoy browsing this website. I hope the information provided will prove informative for parents and pupils alike. If there is anything you would like to see included or you would like to give us some positive feedback do not hesitate to contact the school office.

‘Work, Learn, Progress, Succeed’ is at the heart of our school and we live it out every day – it permeates every aspect of school life. We want to work together to support our children to achieve their full potential as confident, independent, proactive and concerned citizens of the 21st Century.
Our School Promises are the essence of our Behaviour policy:
Work Hard! Never Give up! Be Nice!
They articulate our high expectations for our whole school community.
They are used proactively and not just when things go wrong.
Our children know and relate our School Promises to their everyday lives.
They are displayed in the hall, in all classrooms and throughout the school.
The results of our final competition from Summer 1 are in... A HUGE thank you to all the schools who took part - we had over 200 children enter, which is amazing! Details of the first Summer 2 competition were sent out earlier this week 🌎🏅 #CompsForAll https://t.co/jvMuhPLkw9
Barefoot computing has some excellent E-safety resources for children to use both in school and at home. Children in KS2 can learn about staying safe online with this game: https://t.co/zqrwLseQ7w
We had a great day enjoying stories for Pyjamarama and raising money for Booktrust. #PyjamaramaDay
