Changes to pick-ups

If you know that you won’t be collecting your child from school on a particular day, can you please ensure that you put this in writing to the school.

The letter needs to include

  • a brief explanation of why there is a change to the pick-up arrangements
  • which day this is happening
  • who will actually be collecting the child
  • the adult’s relationship to the child
  • the password that the adult will use


  • a contact number so that we can contact you to clarify anything we are unsure of

I have attached a form that you can complete, instead of writing a letter, which will need to be handed to a member of staff.  Copies will be available in the school office and on the school website.

We are aware that there will be times when something happens unexpectedly and you will need to ring the school office to tell us of a change to the normal pick arrangements over the phone.  We are changing our internal procedures and will now require you not only to give us the information required above but also confirm:

  • who you are
  • what your contact number is
  • what your relationship to the child is

These details will then be checked against the details we hold and if there is any discrepancy we will use our contact details to speak to you to clarify the situation.

In the event of an unknown adult turning up that is unknown to staff, he/she will be directed to the school office who will contact you on the phone to confirm before the child can be handed over.  If we are unable to confirm with you who the adult is, then the child will remain in our care until we are able to confirm the details.  Can you all please ensure that we have up to date contact details for you to aid with this.
