Throughout the Autumn Term Year 3 & 5 have been taken part in 'Forest Schools'. Research has shown that children and young people are stimulated by the outdoors and typically experience, over time, an increase in their self belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.
In forest schools, we learnt the value of team work by building a shelter.
In forest schools we have learnt a lot about fire safety, including toasting marshmallows over an open fire!
This week in forest schools we cooked stew over an open fire, the children enjoyed making the stew and really enjoyed eating it!
