We have now begun our final term and yet again it is a busy, but exciting one. We have started a new topic discussing 'People who help us' and will begin with a visit from a police officer which the children are very excited about (pictures to follow).
Take a look at our Summer term overview (above) to see what other topics we will be covering this term and our areas of focus for learning.
Reminders: Please bring your childs book bag to school everyday and read with them as much as possible. Books will be changed every other day.
We are only in to our second week of the half term and we have already learnt a lot of new and exciting things! We have continued with out topic of Traditional Tales as the children are thoroughly enjoying listening to and acting out the stories learnt so far. We have a few budding actors in the class! So far we have looked at Goldilocks, The Three Pigs, The Gingerbread Man and have now moved on to Jack and the Beanstalk. Ask your child/ren if they can retell you their favourite story.
This week is Viking week at Well lane and today we had some visitors in to talk to us about the Vikings and show us some artifacts. The children have really enjoyed learning some Viking facts (see if they can tell you one) and we will be making some items of our own throughout the week. Take a look at the pictures below.
We will soon be learning about the story of Easter and maybe making a few treats. Watch this space.
People Who help Us: The Police
The children loved having a police officer visit us in our classroom and they enjoyed learning more about the role of the police. They even had the opportunity to look at some police equipment and sit inside a police van! The children learnt about the importance or road safety, staying safe with an adult, how to make an emergency call and we even took their fingerprints!
