Health and Activity Week

 This week at Well Lane Primary the pupils are taking part in lots of activities in relation to health.
Monday: Pupils in years 3-6 are having a fencing lesson from Premier Sport. F2, Year 1 and Year 2 are practicing some tag rugby style invasion games.
Tuesday: The pupils in KS2 are looking at food groups and their diet as part of a healthy eating roadshow in the afternoon.
Wednesday: We have a special assembly today from Olympic Bronze Medalist Sarah Stevenson. She will be bringing her medals along to show us as well as answering lots of questions from the staff and pupils. They will all then get to take part in a Handball style lesson from WESPA.
In the afternoon we are holding a Race for Life event. Parents and pupils are joining staff in an hour long danceathon to raise money for cancer research.
Thursday: Our Sports Day.
Friday: The blindfold challenge. Staff will be blind folded during assembly and invited to taste some fruit and vegetables. After this the pupils will be invited to taste the fruit and find out more about it, as well as about fair trade and waste. At 2.30pm parents are invited to watch a Karate display and some of our children will be showing the parents what they have learnt during the week. at 3pm there will be a 'Pay as you feel' market stall where parents and pupils can buy the fruit that the pupils have tasted during the day, but at a price they can afford.
