National Science Week

March 13th- 22nd was National Science Week and to celebrate science in school the children at Well Lane came up with their own questions to answer. The children had some good ideas such as which paper makes the best plane? Do children with longer legs jump further? Which material makes the best umbrella?
They worked in small groups to plan an investigation to answer their questions then presented their findings on large posters which were shared at a science assembly.
Everybody worked hard and had fun finding out new things. A group of children in year 5 will join Mrs Hall at The Big Science Event held at the Discovery Centre in June to show off their scientific skills and hopefully win a prize.
