This is subject to change depending on weekly events so please ensure your child has a PE kit in every day!
At Well Lane pupils have one PE lesson a week. We also participate in the daily mile, go noodle as well as active lessons, active play times and active lunchtimes. All pupils are encouraged to fully participate in all of the above. We celebrate sporting success.
All pupils will be exploring games for the summer term.
Pupils take part in termly personal challenge competitions as well as intra (against each other) competitions and pupils in Years 3-6 take part in competitions against other schools.
Please check out our extra-curricula clubs page for details about these clubs and competitions for this term.
Every child in Well Lane should have a PE kit. This must be in school every day. It is compulsory.
Lessons may be taking place outside please ensure that pupils have trainers and jogging bottoms/jumpers.
The PE kit consists of a plain white t-shirt (or one with the Well Lane logo on), navy or black shorts (no pockets) and a pair of black pumps. (Trainers are permitted in outdoor lessons)
Parents; each child needs a PE kit. All 3 items together cost less than £10 in most supermarkets. PE kits are sent home at the end of each half term to be washed and must be returned on the first day back. Please ensure your child has one. Children who regularly don't have a PE kit will receive letters home. Regular letters will lead to parents being invited in to discuss why their child does not have a kit.
Pupils from F2-Year 6 take part in a virtual personal challenge competition each term. They also regularly compete against each other in their house teams.
Level 2 competitions
In December, year 3 & 4 participated in a dodge ball competition at Rock ferry primary which included three other schools. We were happy to take part and even won the competition, being undefeated throughout!
Pupils from year 3 and 4 also participated in an Athletics competition in March. We came second, beaten by only 3 points! Well done to those who took part.
16 pupils, 8 from year 3 and 8 from year 2 took part in a dance event in March. These pupils thoroughly enjoyed their experience and got to perform in from of their parents and other schools. They were fantastic.
6 Year 4 pupils had lots of fun at a swimming gala at Europa Pools on the 25th March. The children came out "buzzing" from the event and really enjoyed the opportunity.
