SMSC at Well Lane Primary
At Well Lane Primary we seek to develop children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural education. We hold weekly circle time lessons in each class which provide a time for listening, help develop children's attention span, promote oral communication and help children learn new concepts and skills. We have also signed up for Go-Givers, a scheme that helps children develop their SMSC education. Find out more about Go-Givers here:
Throughout the year we will be focusing on citizenship with an emphasis on financial education. We have begun completing the lifesavers programme, please find more information here:
At Well Lane Primary school, the safety of our pupils is our highest concern. We have spent time in class learning about rail safety and completing follow up work. More information can be found here;
At Well Lane, in support of our financial education, we have opened our very own savings club! The club is staffed by pupil volunteers who every week open and close the club and are responsible for taking deposits, we've had some super savers so far! We have prizes available for pupils who save regularly. Savings club runs most Fridays from the school playground.
We are delighted to have been awarded our 'Lifesavers school' award. A big thank you to all the pupils, parents and staff for making this happen.
Year 3 have spent time learning about microorganisms. We covered our hands in glitter to show how easily germs could spread and how to stop this from happening by using warm water and soap.
