Useful SEND Links and Resources

Here you will find useful links and resources for children with SEND and their families.  The information is sorted according to the 4 Areas of Need from the SEN Code of Practice (2015).
Please note that not all children with a Special Educational Need require a diagnosis.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health
This includes children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression and trauma.  
If you are a parent/carer and you are concerned about your child or young person's mental health, you can call the CAMHs Advice Line on 0151 488 8453 and speak to an experienced CAMHs Practitioner.
Open Monday-Friday 9am - 10pm
Saturday & Sunday 12pm - 8pm
Urgent mental health support can be accessed via the CWP Crisis Line on 0800 145 6485.  The phone line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is open to people of all ages – including children and young people, parents/carers and professionals.
Communication & Interaction
This includes children with Autism and other social communication difficulties and those with speech and language difficulties such as word finding, understanding and expression, including stammers.
Cognition & Learning
This includes Specific Learning Difficulties (where only one or some areas of learning are affected) such as dyslexia and dyscalculia as well as moderate learning difficulties which affect all areas of learning.
Sensory and/or Physical
This includes children who have a physical difficulty including wheelchair users, a sensory difficulty such as visual or hearing impairment, and sensory processing problems.
